Stockbrot

What is Stockbrot?

Stockbrot is your next favourite thing when it comes to hot dogs and picnics.

It’s freshly baked, still hot and crusty bread wrapped around a wooden stick that is baked on an open fire. You can make the dough within minutes.

Bonfire nights, BBQs, picnics and in general..it’s delicious af.

And here’s the formula for this deliciousness:Stockbrot

Water : flour = 1 : 2  (2 cups : 4 cups)

1 ½ tsp salt

1 tbsp yeast in warm water + sugar.

Put ½ tsp sugar in a warm water and add yeast. Let it sit for 5 min. Add flour + water + salt and stir, kned until smooth and elastic.

Find a wooden stick that is cca. as thick as a hot dog (the sausage you’ll later put in the bread).

Wrap your Stockbrot dough around the stick and start to bake on an open fire.

The Stockbrot is done once you can pull it off the stick without sticking on it.

Now, you can put in your choice of sausage..don’t forget that the sausage has to be “roasted” as well. Add mayo, ketchup, lettuce, tomato, avocado, root beet..whatever you like and enjoy before it cools down.
